2015 Mustang GT "King Cobra" Package Unveiled at SEMA Show

PEKIN, Illi. - A lot of things went down at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas last week. Some of the industry's biggest leaders were revealing the most impressive concept vehicles of all time; topping one idea after the next. Ford Motor Company was no exception with Ford Racing's debut of a thrilling product built exclusively with Ford Racing performance parts. 

The 2015 Mustang Gt "King Cobra" package was unveiled at the SEMA Show last week and gave attendees plenty to talk about. With a name like King Cobra, they should have known that they were in for a product with some serious bite. Ford Racing has been waiting for the opportunity to get their hands on a 2015 Mustang and develop a series of packages that would push it to the limit. As one of Ford Racing's first performance packages available for the 2015 Mustang, it is definitely setting the bar high. The "King Cobra" is equipped with the "Drag Pack", "Handling Pack", and "Super Pack" supercharger kit, helping to produce an insane 600+ horsepower. 

The Drag Pack allows the Mustang put out an optimal amount of power thanks to its heavy-duty half shafts, and a rear-sub frame kit with pre-installed high-performance bushings to improve traction. The Handling Pack lowers the Mustang one inch with front and rear lowering springs and includes a stabilizer bar kit. The cherry on top of this deadly combination is the Super Pack's 2.3L Twin Vortices Series supercharger assembly; a product co-developed and co-branded by Ford Racing and ROUSH Performance.

The 2015 Mustang GT "King Cobra" Package unveiled at the SEMA Show was built to be a high-performance street-and-drag strip car that can be fully replicated by any Mustang owner with help from Ford Racing's extensive parts catalog. Roush Reveals First Take on 2015 Ford Mustang

PEKIN, Illi. - After Hennessey and Saleen revealed their plans for Ford Motor Company's latest muscle car, we should have known it wouldn't have been too much longer until Roush joined in on the fun. Roush is known for its ability to bring improved handling and bodywork to several other Ford Mustangs and of course the 2015 Ford Mustang is no exception.

Roush reveals their first take on the 2015 Ford Mustang, which includes several different stages of tune for the car. These stages are split into RS, RS1, RS2 and RS3 packages; something Roush fans are already very familiar with. Every package will feature a new body kit complete with a new grille, front bumper, truck lid spoiler and rear diffuser. Roush is also offering plenty of exterior options which include side quarter window, body side and hood scoops as well as a quad-tip performance exhaust system on the RS1 and RS2 package. 

We can except some impressive enhancements from Roush's RS, RS1 and RS2 packages on the 2015 Mustang V-6, Mustang EcoBoost and Mustang GT models. Although major power train upgrades will not be available, you can still expect an impressive 435 horsepower with the RS2's 5.0-liter V-8, 310 hp for the RS1's 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder; and 300 hp for the RS's 3.7-liter V-6. At this point there are not many details on the RS3 package because its use of a supercharger requires additional tuning. 

Along with Roush revealing their first take on the 2015 Ford Mustang, they also presented the public with the pricing for the various packages. The RS upgrade starts at $4,495, $5,895 for the RS1 and $8,495 for the RS2. All packages are covered by Roush's 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
