New Ford GT is the Best Production Vehicle at 2015 NAIAS
PEKIN, Illi. - Talk about starting things off with a bang! Ford Motor Company didn't waste a second of time at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, immediately showcasing a hot new trio of performance vehicles! Surely everyone can agree that the highlight of their presentation was without a doubt, the all-new, ultra-high-performance, Ford GT supercar.
It only took a mere 24 hours to pass before this bad boy earned an award. The Ford GT was quickly recognized by EyesOn Design as the best production vehicle at the 2015 NAIAS. EyesOn Design are the official design awards for the NAIAS and is responsible for honoring the best production and concept vehicles that make their global debuts at the show. The judges are made up of current and former design leaders from global automakers and transportation departments at top art schools.
Honestly, why wouldn't the new Ford GT be the Best Production Vehicle at the 2015 NAIAS? It is the perfect representation of Ford's commitment to innovation through performance. The GT is an efficient and lightweight supercar, with a 600-plus-horsepower twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine. It contains a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle that allows the gears to change almost instantly and helps the driver to maintain exceptional control.
The GT was perfectly crafted to provide aerodynamic efficiency. Every single slope and shape on the vehicle was strategically designed to minimize drag. Ford even added an active rear spoiler that is keyed to speed and driver input, adjusting its height and/or pitch angle depending on the conditions. We can expect to see the new Ford GT on sale in 2016 with a $250,000 to $300,000 price tag.
